Once devastated by the bombs of WWII, London's East End has developed into a vibrant multicultural area at the cutting-edge of cool. Keep an eye out for the work of elusive graffiti artist Banksy as we get off the tourist trail and discover the hidden gems of East London.

On your Urban Adventure you could be jumping on a London bus or travelling like a local on the tube. Please remember to bring your OysterCard or a London TravelCard Zone 1-2 with you.

    Please note:

    - The short walk along the Regent's canal is on a narrow towpath, there is a hazard of cyclists en route.

    - The included pie and mash stop is not available on a Sunday. Your leader will choose an alternative stop.

  • Dress standard:

    A good pair of comfortable walking shoes is advisable. Obviously being London, wet weather gear is also useful

  • Child policy:

    Children must be between 6 and 11 years old inclusively.  Children below 6 are not permitted on this tour.

Itinerary:

Beginning at Old Street tube, we start on the boundary of the financial City and the creative hub of London. See where Banksy made his name, and how he left his mark on the world famous Moorfields Eye Hospital.

 

See where Jamie Oliver set up his “social” restaurant, and stroll along tranquil Regent’s canal. See the studios where Hitchcock started his career, and enjoy one of East London’s best parks.

 

Hunt for a bargain in a real East London market, before stopping for traditional pie & mash. See where Guy Fawkes' gunpowder plot was foiled, and the gallery where Damien Hirst made his name.

 

Visit one of the few Circus school in London, and scour for more contemporary street art.

 

Pop into a church now converted into an amazing reclamation yard, and see offices converted from old London Underground carriages.

 

Uncover the historic Spitalfields conservation area full of stunning Georgian Terraces, home to artists Tracey Emin and Gilbert & George and browse the boutiques of Spitalfields market, passing the Ten Bells pub where several victims of the Ripper had their last drink.

 

Enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of multi-cultural Brick Lane and see a Huguenot church that was once a Synagogue and is now a mosque! Pass the famous curry houses of Banglatown, and finish at the fashionable Truman brewery where you can grab a lunch from many stalls.

For your Urban Adventure you will be in a small group of a maximum of 12 people.
